Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of the HB Corporate Digital Library (the “Library”). By registering, subscribing, receiving corporate access or using the Library, you agree to these Terms.

Last updated: 26 August 2026

1. Library service

The Library provides online access to selected books, publications and professional resources during the period in which the user has a valid individual subscription or authorised corporate entitlement. Available titles, categories and access conditions may change over time.

2. Accounts and access

  • You must provide accurate information when creating or using an account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity carried out through your account.
  • Individual accounts are for the registered user unless we expressly permit otherwise.
  • Corporate access is subject to the relevant organisation’s licence period, seat limit and access arrangement.
  • Access may stop automatically when a subscription or corporate licence expires, is suspended or otherwise ceases to be valid.

3. Permitted use

The Library is provided for lawful personal, professional, educational and organisational reading purposes within the access granted to you. You may browse the catalogue, review publication details and read authorised titles through the online reader.

4. Prohibited use

Unless expressly authorised in writing, you must not:

  • share, sell, transfer or lend your account or corporate access credentials;
  • attempt to download, copy, scrape, reproduce, print, redistribute or republish protected publications outside the functionality intentionally provided by the Library;
  • remove, obscure or circumvent watermarks, access controls or other technical protections;
  • reverse engineer, probe, interfere with or attempt unauthorised access to the Library, its APIs, databases or hosting environment;
  • use automated tools to extract substantial content from the Library; or
  • use the service in a way that infringes intellectual property rights, privacy rights or applicable law.

5. Intellectual property

Books, publications, covers, text, graphics, branding, software and other materials made available through the Library remain protected by applicable intellectual property and contractual rights. Access to a publication is a limited right to use the Library during the authorised access period and does not transfer ownership of the publication or its copyright.

6. Online reader and watermarking

The Library may deliver publications through a controlled online reader rather than providing the original PDF file. Reading pages may include a personalised watermark containing account, organisation and/or session information. You consent to this security measure when using the reader.

7. Google Drive and third-party services

Certain publications may be sourced from an administrator-authorised Google Drive account through Google OAuth and the Google Drive API. The Library may also rely on third-party hosting and internet infrastructure. Availability may therefore be affected by third-party outages, policy changes, connectivity or service limitations outside our direct control.

8. Subscriptions, corporate licences and payments

Subscription prices, licence duration, seat limits, payment terms and any applicable taxes are those communicated at the time of purchase, quotation, invoice or activation. Where a specific written agreement, quotation or corporate licence contains terms that differ from these general Terms, the specific written terms will apply to that arrangement to the extent of the inconsistency.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of expired or unpaid access, breach of these Terms, suspected misuse, security risk, infringement, legal requirements or material interference with the service. Where appropriate, we may ask the user or corporate administrator to resolve the issue before restoring access.

10. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Library available and reliable, but uninterrupted or error-free operation cannot be guaranteed. We may maintain, update, improve, replace or discontinue features, titles or integrations where reasonably required for security, licensing, technical or business reasons.

11. Disclaimer and limitation

Publications and resources are provided for information and learning purposes. They do not replace professional advice tailored to a particular legal, tax, financial, medical, technical or other specialised situation. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Library is provided without guarantees beyond those expressly stated in a written agreement.

12. Privacy

Our handling of personal information and Google user data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, subject to any mandatory rights or legal provisions that apply to the user or a specific contractual arrangement.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Library, applicable law or our service arrangements change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
